At Dromoland Castle
“Messing about in boats” is an enduring pleasure. As a resident, you’ll have unlimited access to complimentary boating and fishing equipment, in case you’d like to row out into the well-stocked Dromoland Lough and see about catching yourself some dinner. We can’t guarantee the fish are always biting, but you can maximise your chances with the help of one of our professional ghillies. If you do land a winner, Chef would be delighted to prepare your catch.
Casting off in front of Dromoland Castle is an experience you are unlikely to forget. Dromoland Lough, is generously stocked with trout, perch and other course fish, making it a perfect spot for keen or novice fishers.
Never fished before? No worries. Our resident ghillies are here to help, guiding you in the art of casting, placing bait, and, hopefully, landing a catch!
Fishing is complimentary for guests and professional ghillies can be arranged at a cost of €100 for 3 hours (2 people). Advance reservations are required.
