The impeccable, personalised service and world-class facilities of a five-star hotel. The privacy and comforts of your own luxury villa. At Dromoland Lodge, the best of all worlds is always available.
Step into the grand foyer, where you’ll be greeted with the rich, earthy palette and natural textures of the Lodge’s landscape-inspired interior design.
The kitchen is the heart of every home, and that’s true for the Lodge, as well. Though fitted out with professional-grade equipment, including a premium Aga gas range, spacious side-by-side fridge-freezer, and climate-controlled wine safe, this is a cosy, welcoming space. Island seating and a cosy dining nook with window sofa naturally encourage congregation and conversation.
The snug sunroom overlooking the Dromoland Golf Course, with its charming wicker details and massive picture windows, provides another natural gathering point, a lovely place to linger over early morning coffees or pre-dinner drinks.
The handsome main dining room boasts an impressive custom-built table, spacious enough for twelve seated guests to share a meeting. This room also makes an ideal boardroom, and can be set up to facilitate corporate meetings, with high speed wifi and state-of-the-art technology available for all your business needs.
In your downtime, there’s no shortage of space to lounge. There are two generous living spaces for you to enjoy, each with their own distinct character. The Parlor is an elegant and distinguished sitting room, with huge south-facing windows offering gorgeous views across the estate. As you settle into the welcoming sofas and easy chairs in front of the crackling glow of a wood-burning fireplace, there’s an unshakable sense of good will and wellbeing, enhanced by the indulgence of a fully stocked bar (on request).
Over in the Games Room, the vibe is every bit as warm and relaxing, with an extra helping of lighthearted fun. It’s stocked with books and board games to wile away a rainy hour or unwind after an exciting day. With a cosy gas fire and deep, squishy seating, it’s also the perfect place to snatch a stealthy afternoon nap between estate activities or rounds of golf.
While full laundry service is available, there’s a utility room with washing machine and dryer, and a boot room that’s a great spot for stashing mucky gear if you’ve been ruggedly battling the Irish elements. Two gracious guest lavatories round out the ground floor layout, and it’s time to explore upstairs.
The organic curves of the sweeping staircase lead you upwards to the Lodge’s five lavishly furnished bedrooms. These can be variously configured to your party’s requirements, accommodating up to ten overnight guests.
With your own private putting green, access to Dromoland Golf Club’s championship parkland course and Golf Academy, and a packed menu of outdoor pursuits and traditional Castle activities, and our award-winning Spa on your doorstep, it’s possible to plan a glorious holiday itinerary right here, without ever stepping foot outside the Castle gates.
As proud as we are of our resort, however, we’re every bit as proud of our beloved County Clare, and we love introducing visitors to the many hidden gems and unmissable experiences to be had within a short drive of the Lodge. Our location in the heartland of the Wild Atlantic Way makes this an incredible home base from which you can explore some of Ireland’s most iconic sights and cultural encounters. Here are some of our favourites to help you plan.
One of the great pleasures of a stay at Dromoland Lodge is the food, with such spectacular dining options available to you right here on the estate. We’ll arrange for a complimentary continental breakfast to be delivered to you at the Lodge each morning, or we would be honoured to host you for an indulgent brunch at the Castle whenever a Full Irish strikes your fancy.
Later in the day, there are more delightful food decisions to be made. Give yourself over to the playful pomp and circumstance of Mrs. White’s famous Afternoon Tea. Drop by the Cocktail Bar and Gallery for an inventive aperitif and tasty snack. Treat yourself to the delicate flavours and culinary theatre of The Earl of Thomond’s flagship tasting menu, or relax and unwind over hearty country-club favourites from The Fig Tree Restaurant. No matter where you dine at Dromoland, you’ll encounter unforgettable dishes, lovingly prepared from the finest, ultra-local ingredients Ireland’s best food artisans can provide.
If you would rather take your meals in residence, we also offer a wide range of bespoke dining options from the Castle. From your own private chef preparing daily gourmet menus to the simplicity and warmth of a simmering crock pot (prepared by our culinary team and timed to greet you with a fragrant dinner when you return from a long day of touring), anything is possible, and everything is delicious.
Of course, if you’d enjoy cooking for yourselves, the Lodge can be booked on a self-catering or semi-self catering basis for some or all the days of your reservation. If you’d like us to stock the kitchen with essentials or specialty ingredients before your stay, just speak to our team about your requirements and we’ll make sure everything is ready and waiting for you when you arrive.
