At The Dromoland Castle
Eamonn O’donnell
Director Of Golf
Spearheading the enhanced golf experience at the resort, Dromoland Castle has appointed Eamonn O’Donnell as the New Director of Golf.
Eamonn, who previously held similar roles amongst other high calibre luxury golf resorts such as Mount Wolseley Golf Club in County Carlow, Waterford Castle and Druids Glen in County Wicklow. Eamonn’s experience will aid him in overseeing the team here at Dromoland Castle in driving forward the golf experience for both members and visitors to the castle.
Mark Reynolds
Golf Manager
Born locally Mark has grown up at Dromoland Castle Golf Club, where he was surrounded by the game of golf at an early age.
Mark has been a member since 1988 and has witnessed many transformations to the golf course and club over the years; the extension of the 9 hole layout to 18 holes, joining the G.U.I. in 1990, renovations to the clubhouse in 1996 and the 6 million investment in the golf course in 2002. “I have been working in the golf industry since 2004 and have been the Golf Club Manager for the last 5 years. I take an interest in all aspects of the game but love playing golf competitively, ” added Mark.
Ian Kearney
Head Golf Professional
Ian is a PGA qualified golf coach and has been awarded the prestigious PGA Irish Trainee of the Year on two occasions while completing his training at Doonbeg Golf Club in Co. Clare. Since turning professional, Ian has spent almost two years working with Taylormade Adidas Golf at their global headquarters in Germany. During this time, he also provided support to Taylormade Staff professionals including the world number one at the time, Martin Kaymer. Ian has worked in Trump International Golf Links Doonbeg since 2011 and completed his Masters degree in Sports Coaching at the renowned Loughborough University specialising in instruction and coaching philosophy. He is the current Golfing Union of Ireland Under 16’s National Coach and Lead Connacht Coach, of which Connacht Juniors have won five national championships in the past twelve months.
Paul Coleman
Course Superintendent
A native of Ennis, Paul joined the team in 2002 and oversaw the transformation of the golf course into the stunning parkland venue that now boasts one of the finest challenges of golf in Ireland. Having originally worked as a greenkeeper at the nearby Woodstock Golf & Country Club he went on to acquire a degree in Turfgrass Science and Golf Course Management at the University of Central Lancashire. This led to some time working abroad in golf courses in Spain and the US before returning home to Clare and the beautiful Dromoland Castle. “It’s a privilege to enter the gates here every morning and work at such a majestic golf course”, Paul says, as he strives to make Dromoland the very best it can be.
Triona O’callaghan
Golf Administrator
Since joining the golf team at Dromoland eight years ago, a lot of attempts have been made to get Triona to pick up a club and play but the day is yet to come. While she doesn’t play golf, she has a love for the sport and can definitely talk a good game! As Golf Administrator for the club, she runs all society and corporate bookings. Neill Slattery
Golf Administrator
Neill has worked in the Golf industry for five years now, before joining the golf team in Dromoland 2 years ago he spent some time at East Clare Golf Club. He is an avid sportsman, with a background in soccer but since his retirement, he enjoys more time on the golf course now. As Golf Administrator Neill can offer you assistance in booking tee times, membership information or anything golf related, just give him a call or pop him an Email. He is always happy to help!
