Step beyond the castle walls and into Dromoland’s historic woodlands for a truly unique countryside experience with renowned retriever trainer Paul O’Brien and his exceptional team of Labrador Retrievers.

A former member of Dromoland’s gamekeeping team, Paul is one of Ireland’s most respected retriever trainers, breeders and judges. During this intimate woodland walk, guests will gain a fascinating insight into the skill, patience and trust that underpin the journey from young retriever to championship standard.

Set along a scenic one-kilometre woodland trail through the estate, this engaging experience offers a rare opportunity to witness the remarkable partnership between man and dog. Through live demonstrations and captivating storytelling, Paul will share the techniques and positive training methods that have earned him international recognition throughout Ireland and Europe.

Surrounded by the beauty of Dromoland’s ancient parkland, guests will discover a living tradition of the Irish countryside while enjoying the company of these intelligent, highly trained dogs.
