Castle & Grounds
A castle this grand deserves enchanting gardens and Dromoland’s 500 acre estate does not disappoint.
Based on designs by Andre Le Notre, who planned the Gardens at Versailles, you’ll find unexpected features at every turn, from the picture-perfect Lily Pond deep in the woodland and discover the estate’s Temple of Mercury, a hilltop memorial that holds a fascinating secret. Take in the beautiful Walled Gardens and dramatic yew tree gallery that dates back to 1740. Stop by the Fig Tree for a lazy lunch before strolling through the Walled Gardens where the gardening team are busy bringing the seasons back to life.
Walk, jog or cycle, but, whatever you do, don’t forget to row out into the middle of Dromoland Lough in one of our complimentary rowing boats. The views of the Castle are simply perfect from here.
Take in one of the many looped walks on the estate, enjoy 18 holes on the Championship Golf Course or simply stand still and listen to the bird song and inhale the aroma of untouched nature surrounding you. Enjoy wellness in The Coop – a sanctuary for those looking to unwind with Pilates, Yoga and Sound Baths weekly. Seasonally also enjoy guided Forest Bathing, Estate Runs, Walled Garden Tours and History Tours.
