Summer At The Castle

At Dromoland Castle

Summer time at Dromoland Castle is one of the nicest seasons to visit! It’s a time when our magnificent 500-acre estate comes into its own, dazzling with lush greenery, birdsong, blossoming flowers and the gentle buzz of bees.

Our biggest news will see us welcoming the world’s leading women golfers to Dromoland Castle this summer as we host the 2023 Women’s Irish Open. Proud to be flying the flag for golf in Ireland, we are excited about hosting the Ladies European Tour and showing these top athletes a warm Dromoland welcome.

With 500 acres of private country estate to explore, the luxury of our exquisite rooms, and a team of dedicated staff to look after your every wish, we’re certain you’ll have a truly special stay with us.

The perfect spot for a memorable family holiday or romantic escape, you can indulge in the best of country pursuits while enjoying the finest of Irish hospitality. From laid back strolls and gentle cycling to horse trekking, tennis and 18 challenging holes of golf, you won’t need to leave our grounds to have fun.
One of the prettiest spots in summer, our wonderful gardens are bursting with colour, scent, sculpted topiary and unexpected features at every turn. Let the children’s imaginations run wild as they explore or take a book to the walled garden, sit by the lily pond and feel your cares melt away.
For something more energetic, why not challenge yourselves to an age-old country pursuit. Archery, clay shooting or falconry with our resident hawks, falcons and owls are all fantastic fun!

Our wide-open countryside, spacious interiors and meticulous hospitality promise to give you perfect peace of mind while you enjoy the warmth and excellence you've come to expect from the Castle.

Family Breaks

What could be more exciting than checking in to a real Irish castle, ancestral home of aristocrats
and a defensive stronghold built to keep out enemies!

We love sharing the magic of Dromoland Castle with children, and are proud to welcome many familiar faces back year after year. Combining world class comforts with genuine Irish hospitality, we’ll ensure your family enjoys the most magical of stays with us. From luxurious details to thoughtful surprises you’ll find specially tailored menus, a bug hotel outdoors, junior bathrobes and slippers, board games, children’s movies and decadent bath tubs for bubble bath fun.

Our activities include go karts and children’s bicycles, swimming, falconry, archery, tennis and clay pigeon shootings. Our Children’s Club offers daily excitement too, from 12 noon to 6pm during school mid-term breaks and at specific times during Easter and Festive Holidays.

Having returned to the Ladies European Tour (LET) Schedule in 2022, following a ten-year absence, the tournament will now take place three weeks earlier in the calendar in 2023.
