Dromoland Castle’s Sensory Afternoon Tea sets to awaken your senses and recreate the feeling of being at The Burren with delicious herbal teas, sandwiches and desserts.
The Amuse Bouche of Iced Summer Herbal Infusion has a flowery elegance and well balanced aroma, is coupled with a Kid Goat and Wild Herb Roulade that is set alight with a Tart Crab Apple Jelly.
The next course of savoury open and closed sandwiches are a celebration of local produce from Burren Gold Cheese, distinct Burren Beef to Burren Smokehouse Atlantic Wild Mackerel, all augmented with herbs, chutney, seeds, nuts from local garden produce.
The light and fluffy Dromoland Fruit Scones with clotted cream and Fruit Preserve are a must for any afternoon tea.
The final reserve is of course the sweet treats!
Wild Raspberries flavour the Mousse, Burren Honey the Sponge Financer, Hazelnuts for the Choux Craquelin, Bilberries for the Macaroons, Wild Flowers Scent the jelly and a slice of Traditional Dromoland Porter and Fruit Cake resembles a ‘Dolmen’.

The Burren Perfumery, located just 45 minutes from the hotel, is a local family company established in 1972 that expertly makes small batch perfumes and cosmetics inspired by the iconic limestone
Burren landscape and its unique flora, using natural and organic ingredients.
Dromoland Castle Hotel is delighted to collaborate with The Burren Perfumery on a new range of luxurious and sustainable toiletries. All VIP Suite and Stateroom guests will receive a luxurious gift box of four full-size organic Burren Perfumery products for their personal use during their stay at the Castle and to take away with them to enjoy at home. Dromoland Castle is pioneering this new luxury eco-concept whereby guests are invited to take their products home with them to continue enjoying them before carefully recycling.
